Description: Petit Verdot is an old and very rare variety which can be found in regions where there are alsobetter known varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot . Due to its very distinctive character with a solid acidity, a firm tannin structure and rather spicy than fruity aromas it is often used in small quantities to “spice up” red wine blends. We deeply believe in the potential of this variety in our regionbecause pure it is like a plaster-cast of its particular origin and therefore a perfect match to our philosophy of “natural creativity”. But Petit Verdot is much more demanding and difficult to handle as for example a Cabernet Sauvignon. Beside other items it ripens very late what makes it tricky to obtain absolute healthy, perfect ripe grapes every year. That may force us in some years to completely renounce to produce this wine. So there are just a few pure Petit Verdot wines world wide available what makes us even prouder to offer the very first and so far only Petit Verdot in Romania.
This wine is a very good match for beef tartar, roasted duck, feathered game like pheasants respectively quails. or tomato based, spicy pasta. If you want to enjoy this wine to the max younger vintages demand extended aeration of at least 2-3 hours.
