The Balla Geza Selection wine series is now called Kolna. The pillars, these unique structures, were buildings of different sizes near or even in the middle of the wine plantations in the Miniș area. In the heyday of columns, they held a unifying force in the community. The almost two thousand columns and the life of the community around them were an integral part of Miniș life, like cadarca, the dark purple wines, the rocky hills, the volcanic soil or the climate. They symbolize the human side of the terroir.
To emphasize this human dimension of the place of origin, we have chosen for our Selection wine series a name that sums up the history of the region, the relevance of viticulture in the life of the community, its cohesiveness and, in one word, at the same time it is a distinctive, unique one Name that symbolizes the local identity of us and the wines.
KOLNA is a word of Serbian origin and although the buildings that bear the name have disappeared over time, the word lives on in the community, regardless of language, and is used exclusively in our region. It is as unique as the wines born here.
